The Desert Nature Club is Frontera’s newest program for adults who want to deepen their connection to the Chihuahuan Desert through guided hikes, outdoor education, and community building.

This is more than a hiking group — it’s a year-long experience designed to inspire a love for the land while teaching practical skills and sharing local knowledge.

FAQs to address expectations

Who is this for? People aged 18+ who want to make friends, improve their mental and physical wellbeing, and learn about the desert’s environmental importance. The Nature Club is designed for adults interested in learning and connecting with others and learn about the Chihuahuan Desert.

What fitness level is required? Most hikes are moderate to strenuous.

Attendance and No-show policy: No refunds will be given or make up days for missed hikes.

What do I need to bring on the hikes? Bring plenty of water, a snack and wear long pants, a hat, long sleeve shirt and sturdy shoes.

Inclusivity: Promote a welcoming environment for all adults, regardless of fitness levels, hiking experience, or background.
