Celebrate 5 Years of Conservation!

This summer, we’re celebrating a milestone we couldn’t have reached without you.

Five years ago, Knapp Land and Lost Dog Nature Preserve were placed under conservation easementsβ€”ensuring these beautiful landscapes would be protected forever. Because of supporters like you, these lands remain preserved, thriving, and full of life. As we celebrate this anniversary, we’re inviting you to be part of what comes next.

Your gift today supports the ongoing stewardship of these conserved lands:

  • Care for and steward 1,354 acres of conserved lands and arroyos, ensuring successful water recharge

  • Protect wildlife habitat and natural ecosystems, ensuring these landscapes remain healthy

  • Maintain over 14 miles of trails and community access

  • Continue conservation efforts into the future

Will you make a gift to honor this milestone and support the next chapter of conservation?

Every contribution helps sustain the places we all love. Thank you for being part of this journeyβ€”and for helping protect these special places for generations to come.

Desert Discovery Camps:

"I really loved the learning opportunities that were provided. My children wouldn’t stop raving about all of the fun experiences they had and since then, we have been hiking as a family. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with our children. We are so grateful to you!" - Gina, parent of Desert Discovery Campers

The Frontera Land Alliance is a nonprofit organization working to protect and preserve open spaces in the Chihuahuan desert.

Who would have thought a child from a farm in northwest Illinois would have the stock market grab her attention, leading to her ability to give a legacy to The Frontera Land Alliance in 2025!.

Wakeem/Teschner Nature Preserve

The 91-acre Resler Canyon was The Frontera Land Alliance’s first land preservation project and is owned and managed today by The Frontera Land Alliance, El Paso’s only 501(c)3 nationally-accredited land conservation organization. Its story is one of inspiring generosity and community cooperation.

The Frontera Land Alliance is a land trust in El Paso dedicated to the protection and conservation of West Texas’ unique landscapes and ecosystems. As a land trust,

Frontera negotiates private, voluntary agreements with landowners to leave land undeveloped and create management plans for restoration. Frontera partners with the City of El Paso to hold 1,400+ acres of land in preserves to allow community access to open space, host educational events, and provide ecological benefits to water, wildlife, and health through native plant restoration.

Special Places | Wide-Open Spaces

Our growing region continually faces additional pressures on existing land and open space. Without addressing these issues now, the opportunities we have today will have passed us by, and the opportunities for conservation will be much more limited. We need to keep this conversation at the forefront in our community because conservation doesn’t happen overnight, and doesn’t simply happen by itself.
