Thank you!

Thank you all so very much! “Thank You” to each and every one of you for your time and financial support which have allowed the programs and projects of The Frontera Land Alliance to succeed. We operate 100% from donations. Your generosity supports our land, water, and education preservation programs. The support that you give—as a member, grantor, or sponsor—always goes towards helping us expand our focus, plan for connectivity of wildlife, water and recreation, and hands-on educational programming.

This month we welcomed our newest team members to Frontera! We spent a week visiting all of Frontera’s projects, providing crash courses on our programing, and conducting on-site visits with El Paso Water (Utilities) to both the Knapp Land and Lost Dog, two of the properties on which Frontera holds conservation easements. It was a beautiful week with great weather, even if I did get them lost at one point!

The next step is for Rocio, Wendy and Kathia to meet you all. We hope that you can stop by for a quick “hello” at Frontera’s Annual Open House on Sunday, December 12th, from 2-5 p.m. We’re located downtown in the Zach White building at 1201 N. Mesa, lower-level. Plenty of parking available, front, side and behind the building.

Outreach Corner:

This month we had great weather for all our outdoor events. We took a hike through Thunder Canyon and enjoyed the scenery and even saw a couple of chipmunks. On November 17th we celebrated National Take A Hike Day by taking an evening hike with our dogs at Knapp Land. And luckily for us, we even spotted two mule deer and a great-horned owl on our hike!

During our Trail Maintenance Day, we made great progress at Resler Canyon. Volunteers helped us mark the extended trail that loops around the Canyon.

Frontera has partnered with ArtStream to educate local elementary students about the importance of Castner Range. This month, our education manager visited and lectured about the wildlife in our region at four elementary schools: Colin L. Powell, Tom Lea, Newman, and Dr. Joseph Torres.
