February 2022

We celebrated the love of our land this February with hikes at Rio Bosque and Knapp Land Nature Preserve.  We hosted our booth at the Horizon Farmers’ Market, and our volunteers helped at Growing with Sara Farms.  Our volunteers also participated in a Resler Canyon clean-up.

In order to show our appreciation to our Board of Directors, we hosted an exclusive hike, just for them, at Lost Dog.  It was a great evening, a little wind and lots of great conversations!!  We watched an almost full moon come up over the mountains just after sunset.  Spectacular!!

The Castner Range Coalition is working hard to have Castner Range dedicated as a National Monument. Follow our progress on Castner Range FB page and Instagram.

Remember that when you are on trails you are one of hundreds of users. Be respectful to the land by staying on the trails, follow “leave no trace” rules, and be kind to other users. This is land we all share, and we all need to be stewards of the land so it has a future. If you are part of an organization that would like to have a guided hike at one of Frontera properties please reach out to: info@FronteraLandAllaince.org

Texas A&M is asking for landowners to fill out a survey to better understand private landowner needs, preferences, concerns, and challenges regarding the everyday management of their operations and natural resources. This survey is part of, and informs, the Texas A&M Land Trends Program (http://txlandtrends.org/) and is repeated every 5 years to determine if landowner preferences and needs have changed and how land and natural resource agencies and/or professionals can assist. Your participation and your individual responses will remain confidential – your responses will not be associated with you or your property and will only be presented in aggregate form. The landowner questionnaire is divided into 6 topic areas (Land Management, Landowner Concerns, Land Loss/Fragmentation, Water, Hunting, and Landowners), and should take approximately 30 minutes to complete. To finish more quickly, it is strongly recommended that you fill out the survey using a tablet/iPad, laptop, or desktop computer. Here is the online survey link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/MYFDX3B
