The event will take place at the Rio Bosque Wetlands Park on Thursday, February 14th 2019 at 4:30PM to sunset. Bring the people you love and enjoy a nature walk through one of El Paso’s wetlands. Want to help high school students learn about birds and native plants?
Frontera Land Alliance, along with several other local environmental groups, is working with Insights on the student-led Environmental Stewardship Initiative, an EPA environmental education grant. We are working with Horizon High School and Cathedral High School by providing in-class workshops and field trips to environmental science students. Each school will be visiting Rio Bosque twice and Keystone Wetlands once. During the field trips, the students will do bird and plant surveys. We are looking for several volunteers to help with either bird or plant surveys. We will provide details once you contact us. Can you help? Here are the dates of our events:

Bird inventories and transects
Are you an expert in birding or do you want to practice identifying birds? If so we would love your help! Frontera is partnering with Friends of the Rio Bosque, El Paso/Trans-Pecos Audubon Society and Franklin Mountains State Park to conduct bird inventories and transects at 3 locations starting in June. Work Days:
Last Saturday of each month, from 9 a.m. to noon.
1. Help restore and manage the Keystone wetland! These “Keystone Work Days” will be held the last Saturday of each month, from 9 a.m. to noon. Frontera assists in the works days by providing tools, but more importantly Resler Canyon flows into Keystone, it is important that we manage both sites. Meet at the Keystone Park (Kappa Rd. and Doniphan Dr.). To RSVP or for questions contact Mike Gaglio at mike@hd-env.com.
