The Frontera November 2017 Update

Thanksgiving is a time to slow down just a little to reflect and remember the endless blessings we each have. For The Frontera Land Alliance, we are blessed over and over again.

We recently received two grants that filled a gap in the Frontera operations and projects for 2017.  Thank you, Moleen Foundation (a fund of Chase Bank) and the Conservation Lands Foundation.

Frontera is proud to welcome hikers into the Wakeem/Teschner Nature Preserve of Resler Canyon. Frontera has always maintained the informal trail that preexisted Frontera’s purchase of the property in 2005, and today, when you visit you will see that low-impact trail, is now defined. With the help of numerous volunteers and endless hours the trial now allows all users to feel comfortable to walk in Resler Canyon from the Cadiz St. entrance, but more importantly, it aids in reducing erosion by keeping the hikers on the trail instead of disturbing other areas of the arroyo.

Earlier this month, Frontera was present at the Southern NM Estate Planning Council Monthly Meeting to learn about mineral interests. We also had dedicated volunteers and board members that attended a fundraising refresher class and we are now all energized and ready to get to work!

This is the time of year that we, The Frontera Land Alliance, rely on each of you to dig deep and give for conservation and the preservation of natural lands for future generations in the region. If you have already donated this year, thank you from the bottom of our hearts! If you have not, not to worry — there is still time to make a 2017 donation. You can go to http://fronteralandalliance.org/how-to-help/donate/ and donate via PayPal or mail a check to: 3800 N. Mesa St., Suite A2-258, El Paso Texas 79902.  Feel free to write in the notes what project or program you want to support, or we are happy to place your donation where it is most needed at the time it is given. You may give to any of the following Frontera funds:
1) Stewardship and Defense (Resler or Thunder Canyons), 2) Castner Range Outreach, 3) Watershed Preservation, 4) Mountain Land Stewardship and Acquisition, 6) Education Nature Discovery Program or 7) General Operations.

Thank you for all you do for Frontera.  Have a wonderful holiday season.

Thank you for your support!
