February Activities!
What does Frontera have planned for the Month of Love? This February we are offering both in-person and virtual opportunities for you. Here is what’s on our calendar:
On February 6th, we will be hosting our first bilingual hike of the year. Join our Program Manager Maryflor on the Resler trail, as she talks about the flora and fauna in both English and Spanish. Aprenderás de donde la Gobernadora agarra su nombre.
- Bilingual Hike at Resler Canyon
Date: Saturday, February 6th at 10AM
Meet at: S. Alto Mesa Dr., behind Cafe Italia and KFOX14 Studios.
Come join us on an easy hike through Frontera’s very own natural arroyo! Learn about the local flora and fauna in Spanish and English. Make sure to bring water, sturdy shoes, and sun protection. Limited to 10 participants, and masks are required. RSVP to maryflor@fronteralandalliance.org
For the day of love, join us for our annual Date with Nature at the Rio Bosque Wetlands Park. Bring your lovely Valentine to enjoy a beautiful El Paso sunset. John Sproul will talk about the park’s history and wildlife. Make sure to bring water, bug spray, and sun protection. We will meet at the Wetland Trailhead.

Meet at: Rio Bosque Wetlands Park- Wetland Trailhead
Bring your loved ones and watch the beautiful sunset. We will talk about the park’s history and wildlife. Make sure to bring water, bug spray, and sun protection. Pets on leashes are welcome as well! Limited to 10 participants, and masks are required.

On February 11th, Frontera and the El Paso 500 Women Scientists will be hosting a virtual presentation to celebrate International Day of Women & Girls in Science! You will be able to learn what some El Paso Women Scientists work on. This event is all about inspiring women and girls to see the tremendous opportunities that exist in all the STEM fields!

Join the Frontera Land Alliance and the El Paso 500 Women Scientists to celebrate International Day of Women and Girls in Science! This event is all about inspiring women and girls to see the tremendous opportunities that exist in all the STEM fields.
We will have a volunteering opportunity on February 27th. Join us and help improve the trail at Resler Canyon! Make sure to bring your own gloves, water, sturdy shoes, and sun protection. We will be providing the tools, extra water, and snacks.
