Charlie Wakeem


A native El Pasoan and a lifelong resident of El Paso’s West Side, Charlie Wakeem is retired from owning and operating a furniture business for 27 years.  A 1966 business graduate of Texas Western College (now UTEP), Charlie is presently active in property investment and management.  He has served as a club president and assistant district governor in Rotary International and is currently serving on several City of El Paso Boards and Committees, including the Open Space Advisory Board, which he chairs. As president (2003- ) of the Coronado Neighborhood Association, he led the fight against the development of Resler Canyon, which Frontera now owns.
